Shane has been racing for 24 years now, beginning with kart racing at the age of 7. In 1998, He began racing Mini-Sprints and won the SOWRA Championship in 2000. Beginning in 2001, Shane raced with several different sanctions, including ASCS, USCS, and SUPR. Shane finished 4th in points with the SUPR sanction in 2003 and 3rd in 2004. In 2004, he raced one race with the CSA and decided that they were the association he wanted to race with full-season. The crew and Shane’s family enjoyed the people within the sanction so much, that some members even became like a second family to them. Shane won the CSA Points Championships in 2005 & 2006. Also in 2005 & 2006, he raced in Charlotte, North Carolina at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in the ASCS Heintz Performance Championships, and finished in the top 5 in 2005 & top 10 in 2006. He has also served as a board member with the CSA sanction. In 2007, Shane decided to run full time with the ASCS Coastal Region, and finished 3rd in points with them that year. After a season break, he came back to the CSA in 2008. Midway through the 2008 season, Shane and his father incorporated Morgan Racing, LLC., and Shane received a 2nd place points finish for the year. Then in 2009, their one car team became a two car team, when they acquired a team mate in long time friend and driver Brandon Olsen. Morgan Racing consisted of car #01 & car #02 in 2009 & 2010. The 2009 season was completed with earning several awards, including Shane’s Points Championship finish of 2nd place & Brandon’s finish at 4th. The team was also awarded Best Appearing Cars & Crew in 2009 & 2010. Shane finished the 2010 season with a 4th place Points Championship finish. We now come upon the 2011 season, which started out pretty slow for Shane and his team. Shane ended the season with several top 5’s, one win, and a 2nd place points finish, only 3 points shy of 1st to add to his resume. The team was also awarded Best Appearing Crew for the 3rd year in a row! Shane is pleased with the year he had racing with the CSA sanction in 2011. Shane’s previous years of racing have only consisted of dirt tracks, but he is happy to announce that he has created a new team! B & M Motorsports, created along-side friend James Bond, will own one Pavement Sprint Car. The car will start racing several pavement series races in March 2012. Which sanctions he will compete with has yet to be determined, but no matter where or when, there is sure to be lots of excitement for the Morgan Racing and B & M Motorsports teams in 2012. We will see you all at the races!

He began racing with the Cajun Sprinter Association in the 2005 season and was awarded Rookie of the Year and placed 6th in the points that same year. After the 2005 season, Brandon sold his car and raced a limited season in 2006. In 2007, Brandon drove the C&C Transportation #29 car for friend and car owner Clint Chapman; that season Brandon placed 2nd in the point’s championship race. After only racing a few races in 2008, Brandon was more than ready to get back out on the track for the 2009 season. In 2009, Brandon was given the opportunity to team up with longtime friend and driver #01 Shane Morgan from Morgan Racing Team and is dad, Ronnie Morgan. The 2009 season was a great one with a 4th place points win in the championship and a 2nd place finish by teammate, Shane. Together, in 2009 the team also earned the Best Appearing Crew and Best Appearing Car Award. The 2010 season was just as eventful as the season before with a 3rd place points win, Best Appearing Crew, and Best Appearing Car for the 2nd year in a row. The 2011 season was one of the most exciting seasons yet with Brandon owning his own car. In 2011, Brandon enjoyed racing his very own car, but it was a slow year with a 5th place finish in the point’s championship race. Brandon and his team are looking forward to a successful and entertaining 2012 season….see you at the race track!

# 9 Lane Whittington

Hometown: Denham Springs, Louisiana
Chassis: J&J
Pit Crew: Tim, Suzan, Chad, Matthew
Lane Whittington was born June 15, 1971 and grew up in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He began racing at 8 years old. He dominated BMX competitions but by age 13 he was ready for something bigger. He turned to drag racing with his father, Timothy Whittington, Sr. He ran eleven seconds in a quarter mile with his dad’s Camaro dragster. After high school he continued to drag race winning about 40 races in eight years. Lane Whittington began his sprint car carrier in 1994. These cars were a completely new beast for him. He continuously flipped his car. Relentless to give up, he finally placed third in the Cajun Sprinters Association (CSA) in 1996. According to Bill Holder in Sprint Car and Midget magazine, “In 1999 (Lane) won more than all the other drivers combined.” In 2010 he won his 100th CSA Feature Race. He has now won seven championship series, four of which being the Louisiana State Championship, and looks forward to many more. In addition, some of his other achievements are breaking 202 mph on a 7.02 run, first place in “Quick and Dirty” boat building contest, second place in “High Roller Motorsports” (BMX), and multiple Super Pro drag racing wins.
Lane is the reigning 2011 Cajun Sprinter Champion and has been racing sprint cars since 1994. Lane is notorious for doing his famous "wing dance" and throwing racing gear into the spectators after a feature win. Look for Lane at the closest CSA event near you. And watch out for flying gear off of Lane!
